Multilateral well

The solutions offered by ML One will allow producing from all side tracks of a multilateral well and enable precise re-entry into the main and sidetracks during production. We offer solutions suitable for new wells and existing multilateral wells with casing strings of any size.

Well was completed with TAML 1 system in complex geological structure with a thin lens-shaped reservoir.

Case study:

  1. Drilling of the mainbore with complications; subhorizontal well profile – 93° at the whipstock location;
  2. Mainbore liner RIH; set off the anchor-packer and orientation recorded within 1 trip;
  3. Hollow whipstock RIH, self-oriented and installed on anchor assembly within 1 trip;
  4. 2.5 m (8.2 ft) of the window and 5 m (16.2 ft) of rathole were milled within 8.5 hrs.

Construction of a well with TAML 1 system in the thin lens-shaped reservoir.

Case study:

  1. 520 m (1706 ft) mainbore liner RIH, set off the anchor-packer and orientation recorded within 1 trip;
  2. Hollow whipstock was RIH and self positioned on the anchor-packer with pre-defined heading for milling the window within 1 trip;
  3. 2.5 m (8.2 ft) of the window and 5 m (16.2 ft) of rathole were milled within 7.5 hrs;
  4. The higher production rate in comparison with other multilateral wells at the field.

Construction of the well at TAML 2 level was performed by an external company. The job was complicated by having no depth reference, well azimuth and exact window cutting data.

Case study:

  1. Adding the window locator to the whipstock assembly. The window was founded;
  2. One-trip junction deployment;
  3. Milling of the window; providing access to the sidetrack;
  4. Complete an acid treatment in the sidetrack;
  5. Removal of the whipstock with the anchor assembly at the customer’s request.

Case study:

  1. High precision orientation without involving MWD service;
  2. Milling a window and rathole in the open hole size 6’’;
  3. Setting the liner – ID = 4,5”;
  4. Mill assembly with PDC- inserts;
  5. RIH with inner string (washpipes);
  6. Ability to replace the completion fluid with a breaker.

Multilateral well completion with TAML 3 junction installation in the open hole. There is the world first successful done job with an ability to have selective access to both laterals without any additional intervention equipment installation.

Case study:

  1. TAML 3 junction installation with mainbore and lateral liners in open hole size 6”;
  2. Successful removal of the assembly from the open hole after drilling due to the modified design of the whipstock;
  3. The modular design of main sections of the completion system;
  4. Mainbore/Casing size: 6” OH / 4,5” liner;
  5. Lateral bore size:6” OH/4,5” liner;
  6. Possibility to control and monitoring of each lateral in the process of exploitation;
  7. Applicable to multi-level oil and gas recovery.

The TAML 1 completion system includes sidetracking from open hole section using a bore thru whipstock and setting a mainbore and lateral liners.

Case study:

  1. High precision orientation without involving MWD service (remote orienting sub, max 3 deg inaccuracy);
  2. Big bore thru whipstock design – 3,6’’ for 7’’ csg; Doesn’t require retrieving after milling operations;
  3. Milling a window and rathole within 1 trip; using bi- or tri-mill assembly;
  4. RIH and setting a mainbore and lateral liners.

Wells were completed without SQ and HSE incidents achieving all KPI targets.

Several large projects were given by clients for multilateral completion with ADL technology within the Eastern Siberia.

Case study:

  1. Sidetracking on the 1850 m (6069 ft) MD within spatial curvature intensity of 0.32˚/10 m (32 ft);
  2. Setting a bore thru whipstock 3,3’’ for 5,7’’ csg;
  3. Milling a window and rathole without jamming and drag;
  4. Well completed with no NPT and HSE incidents.
